You do not need to seek freedom in some distant land, for it exists within your own body, heart, mind, and soul. Illuminated emancipation, freedom, unalloyed and untainted bliss await you, but you must choose to embark on the Inward Journey to discover it.
— BKS Iyengar, Light on Life

I first saw Yogacharya Sri BKS Iyengar and his esteemed pupil, Patricia Walden at Saunders Theatre in Cambridge back in 1987.  At the time, I had no idea the impact that these two individuals would have on my life.

I began teaching Iyengar yoga in North Carolina 1993 and returned to Boston in 1996.  I was fortunate to complete the very first Iyengar Teacher Training class with Patricia Walden.  Under her tutelage, I worked my way up to the Junior Intermediate III level of certification.  Currently, like Patricia, I mentor students in the great Iyengar tradition.

Guru to disciple, guru to disciple; just as it was meant to be in order to establish an unbroken lineage of the teachings.  We are all part of something much bigger than ourselves for which I am forever grateful.
